Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks
When someone mentions the Black Forest Clock, the Cuckoo Clock
immediately comes to mind. The first cuckoo clocks were made arount the
year 1738 and since then have always been associated witth the Black Forest. This popular timekeeper was marked worldwide and is identified even now as the most comonly produced Black Forest Clock.
The technical initiative to construct clocks with a bird call came
almost certainly from the medieval clocks designed and built for Kings
and Emperors of Euorpe. One source of inspiration for the cuckoo clock
